Terms of Service

These terms ("Terms") govern your use of SideTime ("the app", "we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using SideTime, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please don't use the app.

License to use

SideTime is provided free of charge. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for personal or commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where this restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
• Redistribute, sell, rent, or sublicense the app as your own;
• Use the app in any way that violates applicable laws or the rights of others;
• Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices.

Ownership

SideTime, including its design, code, and branding, remains the property of its developer. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you — only the limited license described above. Third-party components included in the app remain governed by their respective licenses.

Third-party services

SideTime is distributed via GitHub, checks for updates using the Sparkle framework, and uses Tally for optional feedback forms. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and policies, which we do not control.

No warranty

SideTime is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that time calculations and calendar markers will always be accurate. SideTime is a productivity aid and should not be relied upon as your sole source for important scheduling.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) SideTime — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Updates and availability

We may update, change, or discontinue SideTime, or any of its features, at any time and without notice. New versions may be subject to updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer rights you may have that cannot be waived under the laws that apply to you.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Effective date" above. Continued use of SideTime after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
